The local development project, PDL, Delavida, belonging to the Avileño municipality of Morón, will have a new opportunity to present its experiences in the elaboration of beneficial natural products for the skin, by participating in the XII International Congress of Dermatology, which will be held in Havana from 31 October to 2 November.

Dedicated to handmade cosmetology, PDL has a track record of more than three years in the manufacture and marketing of exclusive handmade products (soaps, creams, body oils and others) for personal hygiene, beauty and health, with proven efficacy in the treatment of dermatological conditions and the improvement of the skin.

Yunet Pérez Pérez, owner of this enterprise, specified that the products are endorsed by the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology, and their effectiveness is also demonstrated by their application on paediatric and adult patients who have been admitted to the Roberto Rodríguez Fernández Provincial General Teaching Hospital in Morón.

This public health institution acquires the products regularly through donations that demonstrate the social commitment and high sensitivity of Delavida’s workers, who are steadily increasing production to achieve greater presence in the national retail network and meet the demands of the population.

Currently, the collective manufactures some 40 varieties of soaps with medicinal properties, facial masks, nourishing and sulphur creams, vaseline, lip balms, natural and essential oils, aromatic candles, scented talcum powder and body oils, among others, sold in different formats and recommended for people of all ages.

The Territorial Delegation of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment of Ciego de Avila has also recognised the application of circular economy principles in this enterprise, taking into account that the productive scheme is consistent with the care of the environment and generates multiple benefits based on sustainable development.
