Eduardo Martinez Diaz promoted as deputy prime minister and new minister of science, technology and environment appointed

Jorge Luis Perdomo Di-Lella was removed from the post of deputy prime minister for errors in the performance of his duties.

The Council of State, at the proposal of the President of the Republic and with the prior approval of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the PCC, agreed to make the following movements of cadres:

To remove comrade Jorge Luis Perdomo Di-Lella, who committed errors in the performance of his duties, from the post of Deputy Prime Minister.

To promote to the post of Vice Prime Minister the Doctor of Science Eduardo Martínez Díaz, Deputy to the National Assembly of People’s Power and current Minister of Science, Technology and Environment.

Appoint comrade Armando Rodríguez Batista, current Vice Minister of Science, Technology and Environment, as Minister of Science, Technology and Environment.

Comrade Rodríguez Batista, 47 years old, is a radiochemical engineer and holds the scientific degree of Doctor of Science. He has worked in this organisation for more than 20 years, from specialist in science and technology, director of science, technology and innovation to his current position. He is also a member of the technical team of the National Innovation Council.
