A new cold front, albeit weakened in its southernmost portion, will pass through the north of Cuba’s central region during the afternoon of next Tuesday, 21 April.
As it passes, an increase in cloud cover is expected in the province of Ciego de Ávila, accompanied by some rainfall that will mainly affect the interior and the north coast of the territory. These rains will extend through Tuesday night and the early hours of Wednesday.
Although somewhat heavy showers could occur in specific locations, accumulated water totals will not be significant due to the weakness of the frontal system itself.
The positive aspect of this weather change will come from the thermometer. With the arrival of the air mass associated with the front, a pleasant drop in temperatures will be experienced from Wednesday until next Saturday. Minimum temperatures are forecast to range between 17 and 19 degrees Celsius, potentially being slightly lower in areas of the provincial interior.
Maximum temperatures during the afternoons of Tuesday and Wednesday will also be below average for the time of year, giving us much cooler and more pleasant days.
Thus, the coming week will offer us a small and likely final respite from the intense heat, just before we fully enter the hottest months of the year in our country.
