Miguel Díaz-Canel, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, held a meeting with Vyacheslav Volodin, President of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, who is in the largest of the Antilles for a working visit.
The president reported on his account on the social network X that this visit is proof of the excellent relations that unite both countries in the political, economic and commercial spheres.

According to the account of the Presidency of the Antillean nation on the same digital platform, after expressing satisfaction with this new visit to the island, the Cuban President commented on the recently concluded session of the National Assembly of People’s Power (Parliament).
The President of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation conveyed greetings from Russian President Vladimir Putin to Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, leader of the Cuban Revolution, and to Díaz-Canel.
In his words he ratified the will to continue strengthening relations between the two countries, according to the Presidency.
Vyacheslav Volodin arrived in Cuba on Saturday afternoon for a working visit at the head of a large delegation made up of other directors of this legislative body.
Upon his arrival at Havana’s José Martí International Airport, he was received by Rolando González Patricio, President of the International Relations Commission of the Cuban Parliament and President of the Latin American and Caribbean Parliament (Parlatino); and by Jesús Rafael Mora, Director of International Relations of the National Assembly.
Viktor Viktorovich Koronelli, ambassador of the Eurasian nation in Havana, and other members of the Russian diplomatic mission in the largest of the Antilles were also in the air terminal.
During his stay in Cuba he will hold talks with Cuban authorities, including Esteban Lazo Hernández, member of the Political Bureau and president of the National Assembly of People’s Power.
