The leader of the Cuban Revolution, Raúl Castro, today called on the deputies of the National Assembly of People’s Power (Parliament) to resolve problems with unity.
«With our fists raised, we are going to solve problems together,» said the Cuban leader when he spoke briefly at the fourth ordinary session of Parliament, after hearing debates on key issues.
The deputies called for maintaining the country’s defence and increasing the fight against crime, corruption and trafficking in illicit substances, during the analysis of the fulfilment of the government’s plans implemented a year ago to correct distortions and boost the economy.
The fourth ordinary period of parliamentary sessions, in its 10th Legislature, will be in session until 20 December, after two days of discussions in standing committees.
The National Assembly of People’s Power is the supreme organ of state power, it represents and expresses the sovereign will of the people and is the only one with constituent and legislative power in the Republic.
