Cuban Foreign Minister Denounces US Aggression in Interview with ABC

Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, denounced in an interview with the ABC news outlet the multidimensional aggression facing the island from the United States Government, with serious damage to the population.

According to the foreign minister’s report on X, during the dialogue, he expanded on Washington’s policy towards Havana, which manifests itself especially through the energy siege and the Executive Order with secondary coercive measures of 1 May.

Likewise, the head of Cuban diplomacy reiterated his country’s willingness to dialogue with the United States Government, always based on respect for sovereignty and self-determination.

The US outlet reported that during the interview on Thursday, Rodríguez Parrilla also warned of the continuous threats of military intervention on the island, which, he pointed out, could lead to a bloodbath in Cuba.

The Executive Order issued on 1 May is directed against any person or entity, foreign or American, that operates in strategic sectors of the Cuban economy, including energy, defence, mining and financial services.

Just six days later, as the first coercive measure derived from the order, the United States Department of the Treasury added Cuban entities Gaesa and MoaNickel S.A. to the List of Specially Designated Nationals.

According to the Cuban Foreign Ministry, this measure will further hinder the functioning of the national economy, which has already been facing, since 29 January 2026, the dire effects of the oil blockade that paralysed fuel exports to the country.
