Cuban Football Association holds general elections
The Cuban Football Association (AFC) held general elections in the context of its 14th Congress.
The electoral commission proposed the full ratification of the current executive, which was voted by acclamation of the presidents of the provincial federations.
The election exercise was carried out with the attendance of all members entitled to vote.
The re-elected president, Oliet Rodríguez Méndez, ratified his commitment to the position he holds and thanked the confidence of those who ratified him to continue guiding the governing body of football in Cuba.
«I assume with responsibility this new period in which we will follow the lines of working tirelessly to take our football to higher levels,» said Rodriguez.
«We know the complexity of the challenges that await us and that demands working together as we have done so far to achieve success,» he concluded.
The vice-presidents Luis Mariano Veitía and Ciro Escalona Oramas also recalled their commitment to work on all fronts with absolute responsibility, as did general secretary Miguel Ángel Díaz.
