The Cuban Baseball and Softball Federation announced today the roster of the team that will represent Cuba in the first edition of the Baseball America Cup, scheduled from 13 to 22 November in Panama.
Under the direction of Germán Mesa, the squad will integrate Group A, based at the Juan Demóstenes Arosemena stadium in Panama City, alongside Mexico, Curaçao, Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic and Venezuela.
Their debut will be on 13 November against Nicaragua, at 15:00, local time.
The technical staff based the selection of the players on descriptive and predictive statistical indicators, with special emphasis on performance against pitchers over 90 miles, tactical effectiveness, pitch selection and adaptation to the playing system.
From this Tuesday the team will begin its concentration in Matanzas, before travelling to the isthmus, according to the federation’s confirmation, more details will be provided on Monday at a press conference in the Adolfo Luque Hall of the Latinoamericano Stadium.
The 2025 Baseball America Cup will bring together 12 national teams divided into two groups, the top three from each bracket will advance to the Super Round on 19 November, while the gold and bronze medals will be contested on the 22nd, in a tournament that will mark a new chapter in the continental history of this sport.
