On the 28th and 29th of this month, the municipal conferences of the 22nd Congress of the Central de Trabajadores de Cuba (CTC) will be held in Chambas and Venezuela, respectively.
These meetings in the central Cuban province of Ciego de Avila have as essential themes in the discussion of the report on the management of the trade union movement, the integral functioning of the organisation and issues related to the recovery of the economy, mainly food production.
Also common are the concerns related to the distribution of profits, which are not always received by those who contribute most to the production of goods and services, delays in salary payment dates and inadequacies in the collective bargaining process that limit in some centres the remuneration for high performance, all of these issues that reduce the personal income of workers and constitute challenges for trade unionists on the road to the sessions of the national meeting in April 2025.
As part of the activities of the conclave, today the certificate of the political movement Latiendo por el 22nd Congress was awarded to the collectives of the Marlin Azulmar de Júcaro marina, the pharmacy management and the Cubasoy agricultural company, all in the municipality of Venezuela.
The first municipal conference of the workers’ congress was held on the 10th of this month in the locality of Bolivia, where the results of the agro-industrial enterprise, which achieved economic-productive dividends in contrast to six grassroots business units that accumulated economic losses, were presented.
The assemblies of the great Cuban workers’ event will take place in June in Morón, Majagua, Primero de Enero and Baraguá; and in July in Ciro Redondo, Ciego de Ávila and Florencia, to conclude with the provincial meeting in November.
