Doctors Alemy Paret Rodríguez, a pediatrician, and Arnaldo Yadró Jiménez, a psychiatrist, returned to Ciego de Ávila last night from Turkey, after assisting victims of the earthquake that part of that nation suffered on February 6.
Authorities of the province received and entertained both doctors, who were part of the advance guard of the Henry Reeve International Contingent of Doctors Specialized in Disaster Situations and Serious Epidemics and traveled with the first brigade that arrived in the affected nation.
Alemy Paret works in the Pediatrics service of the Roberto Rodríguez Provincial General Teaching Hospital, in Morón, and Arnaldo Yadró works in the Nguyen Van Troi Psychiatric Hospital, in the Ciego de Avila capital.
Since February 13, the Avilanian doctors helped the recovery of the victims of the devastating earthquake that affected the population of Turkey.
Cuba, in its proverbial solidarity with countries suffering natural disasters and epidemics, immediately offered medical aid to care for injured survivors of the 7.8 magnitude earthquake, which shook parts of Turkey and Syria.
