The Letra Digital space, held in this capital, will dedicate its monthly edition today to the panel «Literary criticism of poetry in Cuba: challenges in the digital era», coordinated by the Cubaliteraria website. The activity will include the presentation of the poetry book «Hablar la noche», by Jesús Lozada (ed. 2023), as well as the presentation of new publications in digital format. Sponsored by the Cuban Book Institute, the event will take place at the Dulce María Loynaz Cultural Centre, located in Havana’s El Vedado, and will be led by the director of the José Antonio Portuondo Institute of Literature and Linguistics, Marta Lesmes.
As guest poet, Lozada will discuss his book and the great challenge that new formats pose for an author.
The presentation will also be attended by the poet, essayist and literary critic Virgilio López Lemus.
Lozada’s «Hablar la noche» takes us on a journey through the sensibility of an era; in each line the poet evokes the sacred and spreads the waters through the immense.
It is a work that shows the author’s ability to weave the intimate and celebrate the word as an infinite celebration of life. The greatness of a different language and the beauty of reaching the mystery are present on each page, published the Cubaliteraria website.
Jesús Lozada is a poet, oral storyteller and radio librettist, researcher and pedagogue of orality. He is a member of the Consejo de Expertos del Consejo Nacional de las Artes Escénicas and is the author of several volumes of poems.
The presentation of this work is the occasion for discussion in an increasingly digitalised context, the site concluded.
