Cabello warns former presidents seeking to enter Venezuela

The first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela, Diosdado Cabello, insisted to former Latin American presidents that if they try to enter the country without permission they will be arrested and prosecuted.

«How is it that they are going to enter a country where nobody has invited them,» the political leader said last night in his programme Con el Mazo Dando, from the Poliedro in Caracas, before thousands of workers, collectives, militiamen, social movements, parties of the Great Patriotic Pole, military and foreign guests.

He reaffirmed that they will not enter Venezuela for one reason only: «because we don’t feel like it, this is a sovereign, independent country and if they want to come we are waiting for them with pleasure».

On Tuesday, the National Assembly declared nine former Latin American presidents who said they would come to Caracas for the inauguration of President Nicolás Maduro to be personae non gratae.

They are former heads of state Andrés Pastrana (Colombia), Mario Abdo Benítez (Paraguay), Vicente Fox (Mexico), Felipe Calderón (Mexico), Mireya Moscoso (Panama), Ernesto Pérez Valladares (Panama), Jorge Quiroga (Bolivia), Jorge Jamil Mahuad (Ecuador) and Laura Chinchilla (Costa Rica).

Cabello announced that yesterday they captured «a heavyweight from the US Federal Bureau of Investigation and another gringo, along with two Colombians and three Ukrainians with their telephones, where they had part of the plans» to execute.

The Minister of Relations, Interior, Justice and Peace affirmed that Maduro will be sworn in tomorrow and warned the fascist right that «at this stage of the game, if you have any forces, keep them because there are six more years to come and you will be left with nothing».

«It’s going to be very bad for you, gentlemen of violence and terrorists, stay calm», he stressed, and pointed out that in these 25 years of the Bolivarian Revolution they have been learning.

Gentlemen who are inventing and listening to the terrorists, «we are going to go on the counterattack and that means it will go very badly for you,» he said, and pointed out that «we will never believe in your good faith, we will act at the slightest attempt,» he added.

As part of the defence system structured in popular military-police fusion, hundreds of women were sworn in the day before in the Ezequiel Zamora Park in Caracas, in an act presided over by the mayor, Carmen Meléndez, and the Minister for Women, Jhoanna Carrillo.

Executive Vice President Delcy Rodríguez, meanwhile, swore in thousands of motorcyclists at the Miraflores Palace, who set off from the Petare parish (east) and travelled the streets of Caracas, as happened in other states of the country, to defend the Bolivarian Revolution.

This Thursday a march through the streets of the capital and the installation of the World Anti-Fascist Festival «Encuentro de los Pueblos», which will be held at the La Carlota Convention Centre in Caracas, are planned.
