Betting on safety in the movement of trains in Ciego de Ávila

With the aim of guaranteeing safety in the movement of trains, more than 77 kilometers of railway lines receive maintenance by the workers of the Base Business Unit (UEB) Roads and Bridges in Ciego de Ávila.

Brigades belonging to the municipalities of Majagua, Baraguá and the provincial capital, carry out the greasing of screws, alignment and shoeing, as well as the repair of some sections of the roads.

Orelvis Ramírez Rojas, director of that entity, reported that they are also working on the central tracks and the main sugar factory, which connect the Enrique Varona and Ecuador mills, while they are repairing the bridge in Romanillo, which connects with the Ciro Redondo.

The manager added that they are also working on cleaning and plying the strips and beds of the tracks, and they carry out tours to detect any damage that could harm the transit of freight and passenger trains in the Avilanian territory.
