Avilanian doctor Ángel Jesús Lacerda Gallardo, from the Roberto Rodríguez Teaching Hospital in Morón, has received the Technological Innovation Award for his work «Technology for the Comprehensive Treatment of Severe Traumatic Brain Injury».

The award was presented this Thursday by the Minister of Science, Technology and Environment of Cuba, Dr Armando Rodríguez Batista, thus recognising the merit of the research and the professional excellence of the Avilanian physician.

Lacerda Gallardo is a Doctor of Medical Sciences, a distinguished neurosurgeon and head of the Neurosurgery service at the City of the Rooster hospital.

Collaborating on the award-winning research were Avilanian doctors Daysi Abreu Pérez, Miguel Mazorra Pazo, Oilén Hernández Guerra, Fabienne Mederos Victoreis, Julio Díaz Agramonte and Carlos Rojas.
