The epidemiological situation is a constant concern for the Ciego de Ávila authorities, taking into account that the current climatic conditions are favorable for the increase in mosquito breeding sites.
José Luis López González, Provincial Deputy Director of Hygiene, Epidemiology and Microbiology, explained that in the months of July and August the most affected municipalities are Morón, Ciro Redondo and Majagua, the latter with one of the highest infestation rates throughout the year.
The manager reported that in recent days there has been a decrease in febrile cases, focus and reactivity in those locations, which does not stop the fumigation strategies by area and active investigations.
López González added that, due to the high temperatures, the growth cycle of the mosquito is less, so the main weapon to combat it at this time is the family and work autofocal every week.
In addition, it is essential that people with associated symptoms go to the health centers that correspond to them so that they can receive the care established in these cases, the expert recalled.
