Arrests for protests at US universities denounced in Cuba

Cuba’s Minister of Foreign Affairs (Minrex), Bruno Rodríguez, today denounced the detention of thousands of students and teachers in the United States for demonstrating against Israel’s massacre in Gaza.

In his X account, the Cuban foreign minister stressed that more than 2,400 US students and university professors have been detained for peacefully denouncing their government’s complicity in Israel’s genocide against the people of Palestine.

The US government lacks the moral authority to talk about human rights, Rodríguez said in his post.

Students and professors from numerous US institutions, including Yale, Indiana University in Bloomington, Arizona State University and Washington University in St. Louis, have been holding demonstrations and encampments since 18 April in protest against the Zionist massacre in Palestine.
