Aedes aegypti mosquito infestation rate increases in Majagua

The rains, the high temperatures and the lack of awareness among the inhabitants of the danger posed by the proliferation of the Aedes aegypti mosquito caused the infestation rate to increase again in the municipality of Majagua.

Gilberto Suárez Hernández, sub-director of Hygiene and Epidemiology, pointed out that most of the detected outbreaks are located in low tanks and other deposits used in houses, thus revealing a deficiency in the application of the family auto focal.

In view of this situation, the operators of the campaign against vectors with the support of mobilized people from other sectors intensify the actions to reduce the current infestation index, which is 1.5, and among the actions are: the blocking of outbreaks and febrile cases with priority attention to repetitive blocks and places where people infected with dengue fever reside, in addition to abatization and the application of adulticides.

Also in this area, the population is advised to immediately go to medical assistance centers in case of warning signs such as bleeding gums and mucous membranes, extreme decay and drop in blood pressure.
