The electric company of Ciego de Ávila, a collective with a heroic productive tradition and in the battle to recover the economy in the face of natural disasters, was selected to read the call to put hands and heart to the Homeland, in homage to the feast of the workers the coming May 1st.
In the special morning meeting held at that center, Niurka Ferrer Castillo, general secretary of the Provincial Committee of the Cuban Workers´ Central Union (CTC), said that the days prior to what will be enthusiastic and combative parades in squares and communities in Ciego de Ávila, will be dedicated to the heroism of the workers and the people in the consolidation of the economic and social development model.
She urged to promote efficiency, food production, import substitution and other tasks aimed at continuing the country’s development programs.
The call of the CTC to develop days of decisive effort in homage to May Day, will be read in all workplaces and various activities will be carried out according to the program of the union movement, among which are planned the acts of awarding decorations to workers outstanding and recognition to the groups that reached for the first time or ratified the status of National Vanguard.
