Kevin Marcos Delgado Álvarez, a student specialising in Law at the University of Ciego de Ávila «Máximo Gómez Báez», was awarded the 19th edition of the «Rubén Darío» Academic Excellence Award, and thus became the first young Avileño to receive this prize.

The prestigious award will be presented at a ceremony to be held on 24 October at the National University of Forestry Sciences, Unacifor, located in the Honduran city of Siguatepeque.

The award recognises students with outstanding academic results in each of the 25 universities in Central America and the Dominican Republic that are members of the Consejo Superior Universitario Centroamericano.

Kevin Marcos Delgado Álvarez has multiple awards and scientific publications in indexed journals, and is currently working on his application for the Citma Award for student researcher in the category of Social and Humanistic Sciences.
