Three Avilanian doctors have just received the Doctor Antonio Luaces Iraola Award presented by the provincial hospital of Ciego de Ávila for their meritorious professional careers.

The recognised physicians are Doctor Diana Luisa Mendoza Moreno and Doctors Leonel Pineda Folgoso and Osvaldo Ovidio Núñez Morales. The presentation of the aforementioned awards takes place on the day celebrating Latin American Medicine Day and is the fifth occasion on which medical professionals have been rewarded at the Health institution.

Furthermore, at the same ceremony, the Internationalist Medal was awarded to Yusdel Yosvani Vargas Sánchez, Sofía Elena Torres and the Graduates Irenia Torres Fernández, Luisa Ojeda Sánchez and Juan Manuel Hernández de la Nuez.

The work carried out during this 2025 by the Pharmacy Services and the Medical Records and Health Statistics of the Doctor Antonio Luaces Iraola Provincial Hospital, of the Avilanian capital, was also recognised.

It is beneficial to recognise those who excel in the noble act of caring for the population’s health to the satisfaction of patients and their relatives.
