The president of the National Assembly of People’s Power of Cuba, Esteban Lazo, will arrive today in Angola on a three-day official visit to strengthen parliamentary relations.
The head of the Cuban Legislative travels to Luanda from South Africa, where the day before he held meetings with government and political party leaders of that country.
According to the press office of the Angolan National Assembly, the program in this capital includes a courtesy meeting with the head of the Parliament, Carolina Cerqueira, as well as conversations with deputies, within the framework of the historical relations between the two institutions.
Lazo and the delegation accompanying him are due to attend tomorrow the plenary session of the Angolan chamber, which has on its agenda the debate and approval of two bills, one on cryptocurrency mining and the other on doping in sports.
During the same day, the representation of the Caribbean nation will make a guided visit to the National Assembly Palace, the António Agostinho Neto Memorial and the sarcophagus of former president José Eduardo dos Santos.
They will also learn about the Cardenal Dom Alexandre do Nascimento Hospital Complex.
On the last day of work, February 29, the President of the Cuban Parliament will honor Commander Raúl Díaz Arguelles with the laying of a wreath at the Alto de las Cruces Cemetery.
