A total of 388 twelfth grade students in Ciego de Ávila chose the University College, in which they receive academic training that prioritizes vocational training and professional orientation towards the selected career.

Vivian González Rodríguez, head of the Pre -University Educational Level in this province, said that for this modality of studies degrees are offered in technical specialties such as electric, economy, mechanical, agricultural, nursing, hygiene and epidemiology, and veterinary.

The leader explained among the 22 options, pure math, chemistry and physics are also included, which belong to the basic sciences and are studied in Villa Clara; Radioquímica and Engineering in Nuclear Technology, which are taught at the University of Havana, and journalism, which is offered in Camagüey.

The student Yadira Pérez Ruiz, said she felt happy to integrate the University College to have her future assured, like her classmates, who do not have to carry out the entrance exams to higher education, for having received a solid previous preparation to face the university studies.
