The First Secretary of the Communist Party Central Committee and President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, received multiple good wishes on Monday on the occasion of his 66th birthday, sent by members of political and mass organisations, as well as by leaders of institutions across the country.
Through messages disseminated on social media and official outlets, representatives of the Communist Party of Cuba, the Government and various organisations highlighted the president’s career, his commitment to the Revolution and his work at the country’s helm in a context marked by economic challenges and international tensions.
The good wishes also emphasised his connection with the people and his style of working close to the nation’s daily realities, as well as his active participation in leading the main political and social processes.
The president, born on 20 April 1960, has held various responsibilities throughout his political career, before assuming the presidency of the Republic in 2018. Since then, his tenure has been marked by attention to strategic sectors and the promotion of the use of technologies in government management.
