In the Avilanian municipality of Chambas, actions are being carried out to encourage the vocational training of students for a career in journalism. With this objective, the grassroots delegation of the Union of Cuban Journalists (Upec) in the territory organised a conservatory with eleventh grade students of the «Raúl Cervantes» Urban Pre-university Institute.
During the meeting, they explained the requirements to enter the career, the characteristics of the profession and the job possibilities once graduated from the University. In addition to the students, the conservatory was attended by the school’s directors.
After the exchange, it was agreed to maintain the link between the radio station Radio Chambas and the pre-university «Raúl Cervantes», in order to awaken a greater interest in the career and to contribute to the preparation of those who wish to take the aptitude tests.
