The central event to celebrate the 64th anniversary of the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC) throughout Cuba will take place today in Santa Clara, in recognition of the work of the country’s women and especially the results obtained by the organisation in Villa Clara over the last year.

At the celebration, seven of the 13 municipalities of the territory will receive distinctions for their work in the last 12 months, while the National Secretariat of the FMC will present Villa Clara with the National Vanguard flag, one of the main merits that contributed to obtaining the headquarters of the celebrations in the central geography.

Among the province’s results, the incorporation of more than three thousand women into the labour market, the opening of 24 children’s homes and the different programmes created in the Women’s and Family Guidance Centres, where courses are given for obtaining trades, counselling and care for female victims of gender violence stand out.
