The commission created by the National Assembly (Parliament) will present today in ordinary session the text of the Simón Bolívar Liberator Special Law against the blockade and for the defence of the Bolivarian Republic.
This legal initiative, proposed last Tuesday in the legislative chamber by the President of Parliament, Jorge Rodríguez, responds to the approval by the US House of Representatives of the so-called Bolívar Law, which reinforces the policy of sanctions and unilateral coercive measures against this country.
The proposal came in the midst of the approval of a unanimous agreement in rejection and condemnation of this legal monstrosity that President Nicolás Maduro called the day before a «rubbish law».
Rodríguez called for the process to be speeded up so that the Special Law «against the blockade, the defence of our dignity, history, idiosyncrasy and for the bones of the liberators of America» can be approved in ordinary session next Tuesday.
Among his recommendations, he considered that his proposal should include the perpetual political disqualification of those who have committed brutal acts against the Republic, such as asking for sanctions and those who applauded this US law, which includes the opposition leader María Corina Machado.
He also suggested that these criminals and associates be subject to the Law of Extension of Dominion, and that the resources obtained «be destined solely and exclusively to contribute to the national executive to help in the fight against the blockade and economic laws».
«They were wrong again, we are going to prove it to them, we are going to defeat them again and they are going to eat the dust of defeat again», the parliamentarian assured.
Maduro yesterday called on the Venezuelan people to support the fight against the bill passed by the US House of Representatives, which he predicted would be «a biblical wallow».
Speaking at the installation of the National Electoral Commission for the election of peace judges on 15 December at the Federal Legislative Palace, the president expressed his total repudiation of «the attempt to put the name of (Simon) Bolivar to a law of war, dirty and criminal» against the South American country.
The dignitary denounced that it is a «rubbish law», requested by surnames, with which serious national and international crimes are committed.
«All those who are associated with the approval of this law in the United States will face the consequences,» he warned.
We are prepared to win for the right to peace, he affirmed, and called on people to take to the streets to fight because no one will disturb the peace of the Venezuelan people; «we will make them bite the dust of defeat», he emphasised.
The Venezuelan government categorically rejected in a statement on Monday the approval by the US House of Representatives of this bill.
