The Union of Cuban Journalists (UPEC) celebrates its 60th Anniversary today, July 15, and in our province the date will not go unnoticed.

In the House of the Press there will be an exhibition with allegorical articles to congresses of previous years of the organization.

The diplomas will also be delivered to the winners of the National Journalism Contest on July 26 and the 60th Anniversary Commemorative Coin to the 10 members who deserved it, both during the provincial act on July 26 in the Ciro Redondo municipality, among others, actions that involve the members of the Upec Ciego de Ávila in a national celebration.

The Union of Cuban Journalists is a non-governmental organization that brings together reporters, correspondents, cameramen, cartoonists and other professionals from the Cuban journalistic environment. It was established on July 15, 1963 as a result of the merger of various journalist organizations. (Fatima Pompa Frómeta)
