University degrees to be granted to avilanian students

On December 13, the first awarding of university degrees will take place for avilanian 12th grade students who passed the three entrance exams to Higher Education.

The document sent to the Provincial Directorate of Education by Niurka Tejeda García, specialist of the Admission Commission of the University of Ciego de Ávila, informs that on December 16, the second offer will be made for those who passed the exams and were left without careers.

The information also adds that on December 22, both university specialties and Higher Technicians will be granted to those who applied but did not pass.

Lázaro Padrón Pereira, director of Higher Secondary Education in the province, explained that of the 1,536 students who graduated from high school, 366 have in their hands the continuity of their studies at the Ministry of the Interior and university colleges.

Vivian González Rodríguez, head of the pre-university department, said that only 49.5 percent of the 866 students who took the entrance exams in the territory passed the three tests, while in January four students must take the special exams.

Ciego de Ávila has 2,476 places for the University in the regular daytime course corresponding to the 2023 term, which will begin next February.
