The threat of contracting endemic diseases, typical of the geographical region in which we live, often escapes the daily routine of our lives.

The high incidence of dengue fever in Cuba these days, causes to relegate importance to the possibility of contracting COVID-19, a pandemic well controlled thanks to Cuban vaccines and their massive application in the population, however, the virus continues circulating and making people sick.

The Ministry of Public Health made a call to «maintain precautions to avoid contracting COVID-19, taking into account the proximity of the end of the year festivities, where a large number of people get concentrated».

With regard to dengue, avoiding its spread requires personal and household discipline to combat its transmitting agent, the Aedes aegypti mosquito.

In the fight against this vector, health authorities recommend «frequently changing the water in animal water troughs and flower vases, covering containers with water, eliminating garbage accumulated in yards and outdoor areas, and eliminating tires or storage in closed places», among other hygiene actions.

COVID-19 and Dengue continue to be a health problem in Cuba and the behavior of people is a good percentage to avoid suffering from them.
