The Turiguanó Genetic Livestock Company is developing a comprehensive strategy that combines livestock production with a robust social aid programme, amidst the limitations imposed by the US blockade.
The entity guarantees meat supply to vulnerable people, supports the local children’s home and offers protected employment, demonstrating that productive efficiency and solidarity can go hand in hand.

Faced with shortages of oil and electricity, the company is advancing towards alternative energy sources, training oxen teams, and managing livestock genetics.
At the same time, it is reorganising its production units, promoting the cultivation of root vegetables and substituting imported animal feed with local resources, all in response to the blockade’s limitations and with the aim of sustaining its social work.

In the popular council where the company is present, it guarantees animal protein supply to elderly people, single mothers with disabled children, and families with no fixed income.
Additionally, it makes regular meat donations to soup kitchens and health centres, and collaborates in transporting medical emergencies when fuel is scarce in the community.

This work is maintained permanently, according to company directors, and intensifies during each stage of the productive year.
Turiguanó demonstrates that, despite the economic siege, neither the lack of energy nor logistical difficulties can halt its humanitarian and revolutionary commitment.
Its message is clear: solidarity with the most needy is also forged in every stable, every ox team and every donation.
