The Ministry of Energy and Mines (Minem) reported today that a total disconnection of the national electrical system (SEN) occurred, and that the restoration process has already begun.

According to the information, published on X, the disconnection may be associated with an unexpected outage of the Guiteras thermoelectric plant (CTE), however the causes are being investigated.

The Guiteras CTE, located in Matanzas province, is the largest and most efficient unit block in Cuba.
