Three Avilanian Student Leaders Receive Pedro Martínez Brito Distinction

Three student leaders have just been awarded the Pedro Martínez Brito Distinction conferred by the University Student Federation (FEU) of the Máximo Gómez Báez University in Ciego de Ávila.

Kenia Herrera Valdés, Cristian Gómez Palomino, and Kevin Marcos Delgado Álvarez are the young Avilanians deserving of this high honour in recognition of their exemplary leadership trajectories within the university.

The Pedro Martínez Brito Distinction is exclusively conferred upon individuals demonstrating academic excellence, natural completion of their FEU mandate without interruption, exemplary fulfilment of leadership responsibilities, impeccable conduct free from disciplinary sanctions, and unanimous endorsement from their brigade, Faculty Council, and University Secretariat.

The award citation states: «These three Avilanian youths represent the purest essence of student leadership: brilliant scholars, public servants, and faithful to the principles of the FEU.»

The conferral occurred during the solemn graduation ceremony for the 2024-2025 academic year at Ciego de Ávila’s Máximo Gómez Báez University.
