Edelmis Ayón Verdecia, administrator of this unit, reported that they currently have more than 20 items, including antipyretics, antitussives, antiparasitics and antiseptics.

The practice of traditional medicine for therapeutic purposes is based on the use of different parts of plants, and in different forms of preparation, to prevent or cure various ailments.

Ayón Verdecia emphasised the need to promote a greater culture among the people of Avila regarding the use of herbal medicines, which are usually harmless to the organism because they contain only natural products.
