Women are fundamental in the construction of society and the Cuban state recognises the value of their opinions and their vital role in every process, Ibania Cárdenas Sueiro, Secretary of the Federation of Cuban Women in Primero de Enero, declared today.

The women’s leader pointed out that after the 11th Congress of the organisation, the women of the Federation support the implementation of the government’s plans to correct distortions and boost the economy, as well as to eliminate negative tendencies.

Ms. Cárdenas Sueiro highlighted the insertion of women in all spheres of society, the attention to communities in vulnerable situations and, above all, the implementation of the programme for the advancement of women, as well as the actions that bring benefits to the women of this region.

The Secretary of the Federation of Cuban Women in Primero de Enero, Ibania Cárdenas Sueiro, affirmed that in these areas it is necessary to continue the preventive work, in order to be able to help women who suffer physical or psychological violence, a problem that continues to this day and that today constitutes a priority for the organisation.
