The Electrical Union of Cuba reports that yesterday the service was affected by a generation capacity deficit from 16:25 pm to 19:57 hours. The maximum impact due to generation deficit was 489 MW at 18:20, coinciding with the hour of maximum demand.
The availability of the National Electricity System (SEN) at 07:00 hours on Thursday was 2120 MW and demand 1670 MW, with no impact. At midday, a shortfall of 150 MW is estimated.
Unit 5 of CTE Nuevitas, unit 2 of CTE Felton and units 1 and 3 of CTE Santa Cruz are out of service. Unit 2 of CTE Santa Cruz, units 3 and 4 of CTE Cienfuegos and unit 5 of CTE Renté are under maintenance.
The limitations in thermal generation are 277 MW.
48 distributed generation plants with 209 MW are out of service due to fuel.
For this Thursday’s peak time, unit 1 of CTE Santa Cruz is expected to come on line with 80 MW.
With this forecast, an availability of 2200 MW is estimated for the peak hour and a maximum demand of 2700 MW, for a deficit of 500 MW, so that, if the expected conditions are maintained, an effect of 570 MW is forecast for this time of day.
