The National Magic Festival Anfora, in its XXVIII edition, opens its curtains today for around 65 magicians from different Cuban provinces to measure their skills in six of the eight modalities of the most millenary of the arts.

Big and Small Illusions, Card Magic, Comic Magic, Manipulation, and General Magic will be the categories to be evaluated in the event, which after three years recovers the competitive nuance given by its original creator, Jose Reynerio Valdivia Valdivia (magician Piter).

Until November 26, Las Tunas is ratified as the «Magic City of Cuba» with the presence of renowned groups such as Diamantes Negros, from Matanzas; Teatro Cubano de la Magia, from Camagüey; Variedades, from Santiago de Cuba; individual magicians from Cuba and Mexico, as well as the host company Huracán Mágico.

Dedicated to artistic director Juan Raúl Velázquez Quintana, the Ánfora National Magic Festival will begin with the traditional pilgrimage to the tomb of magician Piter and a crowded parade through the main arteries of the eastern city.
