Amidst the complex challenges facing the nation, the Party’s supreme governing body between Congresses summons its X Plenum on 4th and 5th July. The session will address vital issues concerning Cuba’s economy and society with direct impact on the population.
Key agenda items of significant importance include the progress assessment of the Government Programme to correct economic distortions and reinvigorate the economy, alongside implementation plans for stabilising the national electricity system. Furthermore, the Plenum will evaluate the cadres policy strategy approved at the 8th Party Congress and deliberate the proposal for the centenary commemorative programme honouring the birth of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz.
During the proceedings, the Politburo shall present a report on its work and principal decisions taken during this period – an essential practice under current circumstances.
The Plenum will also formally approve the convocation notice for the 9th Party Congress.»
