Such reflection was made today by Liván Izquierdo Alonso, member of the Central Committee and first secretary of the Party in Ciego de Ávila, in a work meeting in which it was learned that work is being done at the Ciro Redondo sugar mill to reduce the backlog of slightly more than three thousand tons of raw sugar in relation to the plan to date.

Danilo Fernández Madrigal, general director of the entity, explained that in the last few days more than the planned quantity has been produced with the required quality for commercialization, and stressed that the tendency is to improve the efficiency indicators, among which he mentioned the potential yield of the cane.

Izquierdo Alonso emphasized, as in other meetings, that it is necessary to undertake with more rigor the daily task of cutting sugarcane in the sugarcane fields, in the management of which the complete dedication and responsibility of the heads of each production base is essential.

In relation to the agricultural activity, emphasis was placed on the vital increase in milk production because of the importance of this food for the people, in health institutions and other prioritized centers.
