Scientific Research and Projects Advanced in Morón

Specialists at Ciego de Ávila’s Centre for Environmental Bioengineering, based in Morón, are advancing scientific projects and services to enhance economic, social, and environmental development through targeted research initiatives.

The centre manages projects aligned with sectoral risk reduction programmes, alongside territorial initiatives addressing environmental protection, natural resource management, and climate change adaptation. Concurrently, it delivers state services supporting Cuba’s national climate response plan («Task Life»), implementing long-term frameworks encompassing seven mitigation actions and five adaptation measures.

Formerly the Biofood Research Centre, this rebranded institution now amplifies its role in environmental protection and sustainable resource management – essential pillars for the nation’s future development.
