The productive chain that is needed in the country’s economy includes the transfer of technology to achieve harmonious development, especially in agriculture.
And one of these actions was recently carried out by the Center for Bioplants of Ciego de Ávila with the Agroindustrial Sugar Company of the municipality of Ciro Redondo.
It was the realization of a strategy of generalization of science and contribution to the development of companies in the territory, in which future joint research was analyzed.
In Ciro Redondo, the Center for the Reproduction of Entomophages and Entomopathogens (CREE) operates, which consists of a laboratory to produce in commercial quantities, biological control agents to combat the attack of pests and diseases in crops; science is done there that benefits agriculture.
Another interesting action of the Avilanian Bioplants Center was an initial meeting with the Holguín Bio-factory, belonging to the Seed Production and Marketing Company, with the intention of promoting a contract to produce Cabezona pineapple vitroplants, typical of the Gibara area.
Precisely both scientific entities will establish advisory services for the transfer of pineapple micro-propagation technology, a genetically improved variety.
The Bioplants Center is an institution attached to the Máximo Gómez Báez University, in Ciego de Ávila, and both entities are in the midst of a process of scientific development, exchange and collaboration to contribute to food sovereignty with higher quality products, thanks to the agroscience.
