With only a few days until the start of the 2025-2026 academic period, the collective of the School Transport Enterprise in Ciego de Ávila is finalising details for the transportation of students and workers from the various levels of education in the province’s 10 municipalities.

This was disclosed by Orlando Negrín Gómez, director of that entity, who added that for this stage a technical availability coefficient of 66 per cent was achieved, thanks to the incorporation of three recovered buses.

The above allowed for an increase in the fleet of equipment, which will also benefit the transportation of pupils and teachers to the different teaching centres.

The manager stated that they are currently working on the completion of two Girón buses, which, once incorporated into transportation, will raise availability to 70 per cent.

Despite the limitations, they continue with their contribution to passenger transport, both in supporting terminals with return trips and in the freight service, in addition to guaranteeing the transport of campers to the active recreation areas this summer in the province.

Negrín Gómez explained that, with these services, they have received more than 18 million pesos, in addition to guaranteeing the fulfilment of plans with stability in the economic indicators.
