The National Electrical Union (UNE) of Cuba reported that 500 megawatts (MW) have been successfully restored in the country and work is underway to bring energy to the Antonio Guiteras Thermoelectric Plant (CTE).
In a recent publication on the social media platform X, the state company affirmed that specialists are working on strengthening the microsystem of the province of Camagüey to achieve the incorporation of block 6 of the 10 de Marzo Thermoelectric Plant in Nuevitas.
It also indicated that unit 3 of the Santa Cruz CTE is already online, strengthening the Western microsystem and that the start-up process is underway for unit 8 of the
Máximo Gómez CTE in Mariel and unit 3 of the Carlos Manuel de Céspedes CTE in Cienfuegos.
It was previously known that Energas Varadero is already generating.
In the Cuban capital, 13 substations have been restored, 65 distribution circuits which represent 196 thousand 519 clients (149.39 MW), 22.8 per cent in the city; furthermore, vital health services in hospitals are functioning and the water supply service is being restored.
The previous day, the authorities of Cuba checked the management to recover the National Electrical System (SEN), which suffered a total collapse due to the unexpected disconnection of the Antonio Guiteras Thermoelectric Plant, of Matanzas.
