Dr. Nilka Pita Alemán, director of Health in Ciego de Ávila, made an alert on her Twitter account, in which she published: «Let’s unite wills and intelligence to ensure prevention and control.»

And it is that small actions can protect from a disease such as dengue and it is decisive to eradicate the larval breeding sites of stagnant water, since the mosquito is the transmitter of the disease.

Personal responsibility is imposed to keep houses, workplaces and public places clean, without the possibility of insect breeding.

When dengue fever spreads and the possibility of contagion increases, the country’s health services suffer in their expenditure of resources, which are scarce for known reasons.

Identifying the symptoms of the disease at its onset avoids complications that aggravate the patient’s condition and can cause death, both in children and adults.

Fever, vomiting, skin rashes, headaches, pain behind the eyes and in the joints are a sign to be evaluated by a doctor.

If there is any type of bleeding, it is already more dangerous and indicates dangerous complications.

So the prevention and control of dengue, as directed by Dr. Nilka Pita, are the guarantee of a better epidemiological panorama and a better state of health of the population.
