On the CTE Antonio Guiteras Facebook page, it is highlighted that work teams from the Power Plant Maintenance Company (EMCE) from Felton, Cienfuegos, Santa Cruz and Matanzas are accompanying the plant’s workers.

The repair process is advancing on the faults detected in the economiser and low-temperature superheater at the Antonio Guiteras Thermoelectric Plant (CTE), which has been out of the National Electroenergy System (SEN) since last Sunday.

Román Pérez Castañeda, the plant’s general director, confirmed that after the necessary cooling process of the boiler area, access to the damaged zone was gained this morning, and once the damage was precisely identified, repair work began.

On the CTE Antonio Guiteras Facebook page, it is highlighted that work teams from the Power Plant Maintenance Company (EMCE) from Felton, Cienfuegos, Santa Cruz and Matanzas are accompanying the plant’s workers.

The publication reports that personnel from the Central Repair Base (BCR), the Technical Services Base Business Unit (UEB) and the Ayala Molina UEB are also collaborating in the unit’s preparation.

Completing the repair work in the shortest possible time and being able to reintegrate the CTE into the SEN is the aim of those converging on the «Antonio Guiteras» plant, an industry now 38 years old and severely affected by the impact of the United States economic blockade on Cuba, but which remains a strategic plant for the country.
