Doctors of Science, Manuel de Jesús Soto Díaz and Diana Rosa Díaz Garriz received the Rector’s Award, during the Solemn Convocation held this Wednesday, at the Máximo Gómez Báez University of Ciego de Ávila, as part of the activities for Educator’s Day.

In the category of Most Well-Rounded Young Person, it was obtained by Master Yadelvys García Figueredo, while also Master Yordanis Daniel Marín Mejías and Graduate Kevin Marcos Delgado Álvarez were deserving of that award in the category of Outstanding Young Person.

The laurel for the Best Faculty of the year was obtained by the Faculty of Pedagogical Sciences, and as Distinguished Faculties: the Faculty of Economic and Business Sciences, the Faculty of Technical Sciences and the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences.

The occasion was also opportune to recognise the collective of the Morón University Centre, as the Best of 2025, and the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office, the Bioplants Centre and the Ciego de Ávila Hotel, among the best areas of support for teaching.

You, who kindle the spark of curiosity when routine threatens to extinguish it, who demand rigour from us, but lend a hand when we stumble and teach us that academic excellence without solidarity is an empty title, and that commitment to our land is not a lesson from the syllabus, but a way of living, today we say to you, thank you, expressed Víctor Manuel de Corte López, President of the University Student Federation, addressing the professors, during the Solemn Convocation held at the Máximo Gómez Báez University of Ciego de Ávila.

The activity was dedicated to the 67th anniversary of the Triumph of the Revolution, to the Centenary of Commander Fidel Castro Ruz, to the 103rd birthday of the University Student Federation, and to the 50th birthday of the Ministry of Higher Education of the Republic of Cuba.
