Patriotic effervescence in which the Ciego de Ávila delegation to the XI Congress of the UPEC was flagged. Its members fraternized with labor groups
The people´s heart in the central Cuban province of Ciego de Ávila beats stronger again, on a day of tribute to Camilo Cienfuegos to regain the strength of his lineage of Lord of the Vanguard and continue the path towards the 65th anniversary of the triumph of the Revolution.
In the midst of the patriotic effervescence, the Avilanian delegation, made up of nine members, was flagged at the final sessions of the XI Congress of the Union of Journalists of Cuba, whose insignia was presented to Pastor Batista Valdés, provincial president of the UPEC, by Liván Izquierdo Alonso and Alfre Menéndez Pérez, first secretary of the Party and Governor in the Avilanian territory, respectively.
Changes, yes, but…!
What can hurt the practice of journalism the most in the current context is the «will» not to do anything, highlighted Luis Raúl Vázquez Muñoz, delegate to Congress, in meetings with workers from various workplaces, as part of the preparation of the delegation to the meeting on November 3 and 4, in Havana.
Roberto Carlos Delgado Burgos, direct delegate, emphasized the call to the Cuban press to make transformations in its economic, editorial and technological management model. While Damián Betanzos Hernández insisted on the need for «changes, yes, but revolutionary changes.»
In that atmosphere of fraternity with workers, union members and managers, the 10th anniversary plaque of the Industrial Workers Union was awarded to the group of the Brushes and Plastic Articles Company (CEPIL), and José Antonio Hernández Pérez, technician at that entity, was elected direct delegate to the XII Congress of the Union of Young Communists.
Several UPEC members recalled a stage of their youth, after sharing with students from the José Martí urban basic secondary school who revitalized the connection between study and work, thanks to the work in the diversified green garden that constitutes an initiative of the personal entrepreneur of the Provincial Company of Supply and Services to Education, known by the EPASE.
In addition to the meetings with these two National Vanguards groups, the press professionals visited the Propaganda and Events Base Business Unit, where they learned about the improvement of working and salary conditions, motivations and goals to enhance the image of the city with posters, billboards, advertisements and other communication resources.
