In areas adjacent to the ‘La Oriental’ settlement in the Avilanian municipality of Chambas is located the ‘El Tesoro’ farm with 72 hectares dedicated to rice cultivation; it was here that the President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, and Roberto Morales Ojeda, Member of the Central Committee and Secretary of Organisation, arrived to meet Alexis Marrero González, one of the most outstanding rice producers in the territory.

The tour through our province also included a visit to the ‘Pina’ Reservoir Brigade, belonging to the Majagua Oil Production Basic Business Unit.

Liusvany García Barceló, director of this entity, explained the quality of the product from this reservoir as well as the projections for its exploitation.
