President Díaz-Canel in Cuba after Middle East tour

Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel returned to Cuba today after visiting countries in the Middle East and participating in the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28) in Dubai.

The President was received in the early hours of the morning by the Vice President, Salvador Valdés; the Prime Minister, Manuel Marrero; the Secretary of Organization of the Communist Party of Cuba,

Roberto Morales; and the Secretary of the Council of Ministers, Armando Ricardo Guerra, according to an official note on the social network X.

Díaz-Canel made official visits to the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Iran since November 28, where he held official talks with his counterparts and addressed issues on the bilateral and international agenda.

At COP28, the head of state held talks with the prime ministers of Vietnam, Pham Minh Chinh; of Ethiopia, Abiy Ahmed Ali; of Nepal, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, as well as with the United Nations Secretary General, António Guterres and his Brazilian counterpart, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

The dignitary, in his capacity as president pro tempore of the bloc, opened the Summit of the Group of 77 and China at the Conference within the COP28, with a call to close gaps.
