Radio Festival in Morón concludes

With an Artistic Gala, where different moments of the transmissions of the local radio station, which is about to celebrate its 75th anniversary, were evoked, and just a few days before the 102nd anniversary of Radio Cubana, the Municipal Radio Festival was held in the city of Morón.

In front of a large audience of listeners, in front of the radio station’s studios, the best programmes broadcast this year were presented, which will compete in the Provincial Festival to be held in September.

The jury decided to award the Grand Prize in the news programme to Testimonio sobre un combatiente de la Revolución, by journalist Ricardo Varona Lledra, who also won first place with a report entitled Deambulantes.

In programming, among the 12 spaces presented, the Grand Prize went to Omar Noda Romo, with Los secretos de Yeyé, featuring artists from the Compañía D’ Morón Teatro.

The Festival paid tribute to the work of the media over more than seven decades on the air, and praised programmes that set standards in terms of entertainment, content and general quality.

Present were Alberto Echemendía Manzanares, member of the Municipal Party Bureau; Celia María López Reyes, President of the Municipal Assembly and Alfredo Fernández Arcia, Provincial Director of Radio in Ciego de Ávila.

Prominent local artists, such as Lucy Safonts, Raysel Rodríguez, Alain Poveda, Líen Piloto and Ailso Echevarría, animated the artistic part of the closing Gala of the Municipal Radio Festival in Morón.
