This Wednesday began the first parliamentary visit to Ciego de Ávila, where eight permanent commissions of the National Assembly of People’s Power in its X Legislature will exchange with authorities and the population of the territory, reported the Parliament website.
In the initial meeting with Governor Alfre Menéndez Pérez and other executives of the province, Homero Acosta Álvarez, secretary of the Cuban legislature, highlighted that among the main purposes of the day is the exchange with the population in neighborhoods and communities, workplaces and students.
In addition, the progress of compliance with the objectives and goals of the economic plan and the budget will be verified, as well as the implementation of Law 148 on the Food and Nutrition Sovereignty Program.
The implementation of the directives aimed at preventing and confronting crime, corruption, illegalities and indiscipline, and compliance with approved social policies for the care of people and communities in vulnerable situations, among others, will be verified.
For his part, the Governor of the province offered visitors a summary of the work system of the territory, with emphasis on the transformation program in the neighborhoods, attention to the approaches, economic indicators, agricultural, tourist and construction development, and sugar production, among others.
The Directorate of the Commission for Education, Culture, Science, Technology and the Environment exchanged with young members of the Hermanos Saíz Association (AHS) about the progress of the national program against racism and racial discrimination, cultural decolonization and support for transformation actions in the neighborhoods.
Until June 17, the parliamentary delegation will develop an intense program of activities in the municipalities of Baraguá, Ciego de Ávila, Ciro Redondo, Majagua, Morón and Venezuela.
